Canada House offers a wide variety of programs:
Intensive ESL Program
The Intensive ESL Program classes run daily -- four hours of in-class study plus a half-hour of independent study. Each class has an average of 5 students.
TOEIC and TOEFL Exam Preparation
Canada House specially designs examination preparation to meet the needs of each student. Before the first lesson, students take a practice exam at Canada House. Instructors then design a program that matches any student strengths or weakness.
Computer Course
Canada House offers, in association with Futurekids, a course that helps you understand how home and business computers can increase your skills for the workplace. Introduction to Computers I and II cover the basics of computing and the use of popular programs, while the Advanced course focuses on computer training for the corporate world.
English on the Train
An exciting 5-day journey across Canada's largest provinces, Ontario and Quebec, with an ESL teacher and new friends. You may visit Parliament Hill in Canada's capital city, Ottawa, walk the beautiful streets of Montreal and old Quebec City, and see the famous Olympic Stadium and Chateau Frontenac. Your memories of this adventure will last a lifetime!
Fees include accommodation and meals. English on the Train is available in spring and summer programs. Students must study our Intensive ESL Program for at least one month before taking this course.
English for Business Management
A course designed for those with Intermediate English skills, or higher. Learn to use English in the world of commerce. Subjects include sales, marketing, financial management, presentations, negotiations, meetings, telephone dialogues, and letter-writing. This course can be taken with other courses at Canada House, such as Part-Time ESL, TOEIC, TOEFL, or Computers.
Academic Preparation
An excellent new course for students planning to attend Canadian or American universities. Helps develop the necessary skills to meet the demands of academic English. Students will work with real-life texts and visual materials, learn academic strategies (essay writing tips, synthesizing information, listening techniques, and more), and watch videotaped lectures of authentic university professors teaching in English. We suggest taking Academic Preparation along with a TOEFL course for better results and higher scores.
