Intensive ESL Program

The Intensive ESL Program classes run daily -- 4 hours of in-class study plus one hour of independent study.  Students learn using text books and "real-life" materials, such as magazines, newspapers, and television shows.  Use of slang also studied.  Each class has an average of 5 students.

TOEIC and TOEFL Exam Preparation

Canada House specially designs examination preparation to meet the  needs of each student. Students take practice exams at Canada House throughout the course. Small classes allow students to speak more with the teacher.

Click here for more info about entering select colleges and universities without a TOEFL score.

Academic Preparation

[graduates] An excellent new course for students planning to attend Canadian or American universities. Helps develop the necessary skills to meet the demands of academic English. Students will work with real-life texts and visual materials, learn academic strategies (essay writing tips, synthesizing information, listening techniques, and more), and watch videotaped lectures of authentic university professors teaching in English. We suggest taking Academic Preparation along with a TOEFL course for better results and higher scores.

English for Business Management

A course designed for those with Intermediate English skills, or higher. Learn to use English in the world of commerce. Subjects include sales, marketing, financial management, presentations, negotiations, meetings, telephone dialogues, and letter-writing. This course can be taken with other courses at Canada House, such as Part-Time ESL, TOEIC, TOEFL, or Computers.

    2. Longer-term students can choose to stay in an apartment-hotel in downtown Toronto. Apartments are located close to shopping, school, restaurants and the subway.
    3. Residence accommodations are available in university dormitories close to the school in June, July, and August.
    4. Hostels welcome students from all over the world at very affordable rates.
