COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM

The Comprehensive Program is a long-term response to participants’ language learning needs. There are six levels (elementary to upper advanced) through which participants can progress.  Video, newspaper, and magazine material supplement the use of textbooks.

Participants improve their:

¨ vocabulary
¨ grammar
¨ listening
¨ pronunciation
¨ writing
¨ reading
¨ communication
¨ fluency

We recommend a learning schedule of three times a week for 1 to 1 ˝ hours. At this rate, one level can be completed in five months.

The Comprehensive Program includes:

• Need assessment in consultation with your organization
• Corporate Language Training Placement test to determine appropriate level
• Mid–session and end of session testing to track participant’s progress.
• Monthly progress reports
• On-loan textbooks (option to purchase)

Canada House Corporate Language Training Placement Test

The Canada House Placement Test has two parts. First, participants write a short test to determine the level of reading comprehension and grammar.  Second, participants have a short interview with an instructor to determine the level of oral comprehension and speaking ability.
