Language Camp for Kids and ‘Northern Adventure’ Weekends
Canada House welcomes young adults (11 to
17) who want to improve their English and learn about Canada. We offer three 1- hour classes of language training per day, afternoon activities and homestay in a safe, clean section
of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area).
ESL classes start at 9:00 A.M. and finish at 11:45 P.M.
Afternoon activities run from 12:30 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Groups or individuals are welcome to apply.
Our sense of community nurtures the students and give them the confidence necessary to improve their English language skills quickly and successfully.
Canada House Instructors
All Group Tour instructors at Canada House have been selected for their qualifications, experience with children and enthusiasm. They all hold
Certificates in Teaching English as a Second Language. Canada House trains and supervises teachers both before and during the group tour.
Homestay
tetris for free . Online essays for sale for any of students!
Canada House homestay option allows students to learn about Canadian culture and lifestyle from a family in Canada. Canada House homestay
families are screened and interviewed to ensure the highest quality. All offer clean and safe accommodation for students. They are experienced at
helping overseas students learn about Toronto and Canada. The homestay provides three meals a day and an opportunity to learn English in a family
setting. Homestay families are located within 45 minutes of Canada House. They are easily accessible by public transportation. A homestay family gives
students the confidence and experience necessary to function in a foreign country.
The First Day
Students meet each other and the staff. We discuss emergency procedures and review important telephone numbers. Students are given a Placement Test to determine their level. In the
afternoon, there may be a tour of the city or the area around the school.
Canadian Studies
This course is designed to help students understand Canadian culture and lifestyle. Some of the topics we discuss include: Canadian wildlife, music
and regional differences. Students are instructed through games, songs and writing assignments.
Conversation Class
This course is designed to give students an opportunity to practice their English in different situations. The conversation classes help students gain
confidence in their English. We offer different levels of conversation based on students abilities. Conversation topics include: At the restaurant, asking directions and talking on the telephone.
Grammar Class
We offer different levels of study for students in our grammar class. We focus on problems such as correct tense use, parts of a sentence, prepositions and question forms.
Afternoon Program
The afternoon program provides students with the opportunity to practice their English in a casual environment as well as seeing more of Canada and
experiencing Canadian life. Afternoon activities include: visits to the local attractions like the CN Tower in Toronto or the Parliament Buildings in
Ottawa, amusement parks, sporting events and shopping.
Full Day Programs
Students can enjoy full-day sight-seeing events. Depending on their Group Tour location in Canada, students can visit the world-famous Niagara Falls, visit the dynamic
city of Toronto or tour historical Quebec City. Also, the week-end program gives students the chance to enjoy other full-day social activities such as skiing or sporting/cultural events.
Pocket Money
We recommend students bring $300 to $400 Canadian dollars in pocket money. They may wish to buy souvenirs or snacks in local shops.
